POWER FROM PRAYER
Parenting is a team sport. When you and your spouse are “of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus,” you can make the kind of parenting decisions that are best for everyone in the family. These verses are a helpful prayer for parents. With the aid of the Holy Spirit, the result will be appropriate choices, great consequences, and the empathy necessary to deliver both. By praying and seeking God’s will together, you and your spouse (or friends) can with “one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Each spouse can learn something from the other. Single parents can learn from friends who are parents. When you talk about difficult parenting situations and pray together for guidance, you glorify God.
Romans 15:5,6 (the Message Bible)
Verse 5: May our dependably steady and warmly personal God develop maturity in you so that you get along with each other as well as Jesus gets along with us all.
Verse 6: Then we’ll be a choir-not our voices only, but our very lives singing in harmony in a stunning anthem to the God and Father of our Master Jesus!
I can always remember my mom spending many hours on her knees praying for her children. We have had some rough patches a long the way, but the power of prayer has kept us close to the Lord. Thanks mom for all your prayers.
